Frequently asked questions about renovation costs

How much does a roof renovation cost in Poland?
Roughly 140-240 PLN/m² to replace a pitched roof and 100-180 PLN/m² for a flat roof, depending on the covering material and region. Roof insulation alone is typically 60-120 PLN/m². Prices are lower outside major cities and higher for complex roof structures.
How much does facade renovation cost per m²?
Plaster/render without insulation typically costs 90-160 PLN/m², while a full insulation system (EPS or mineral wool) costs 130-240 PLN/m². Repointing is cheaper, around 40-90 PLN/m², while brick slip cladding is a higher-end option: 140-260 PLN/m².
How much does a bathroom renovation cost?
A complete bathroom renovation (tiling, fixtures, plumbing, finishing) costs roughly 2000-3800 PLN/m². For a typical 4-5 m² bathroom that works out to a budget of around 8000-19000 PLN, depending on material quality and the scope of installation work.
Can I deduct VAT on renovation work?
Poland has a reduced VAT rate of 8% (instead of the standard 23%) for renovations of residential property under the social housing programme — apartments up to 150 m² or single-family homes up to 300 m² (Art. 41(12) of the VAT Act). It is worth confirming this with your contractor or accountant, as incorrect application of the rate can lead to corrections and penalty interest.
How do I request a reliable quote?
Always request quotes from several different contractors. Through FixProf you receive free quotes from verified contractors in your region, so you can compare fairly.
